The laboratory’s Molecular biology department is entirely dedicated to the detection of viral and baterial genomes. The laboratory uses real time PCR to enable detection and confirmation of diseases, the follow-up of viral load of various viruses including hepatitis C and B viruses, HIV virus. The laboratory also performs the screening of Cytomegalovirus and Epstein bar virus and Human Papilloma virus as well as Chlamydia trachomatis and Neisseria gonorrhoeae with genetic amplification techniques by real time PCR.
